PROCESS STAGES

01
Survey & consultation
Following the online Questionnaire, outlining any specific initial ideas that the client wishes to be incorporated into the design, an in-person property survey will be carried out, to measure the exact dimensions of the existing spaces and features. Also, this is the time where any design ideas can be shared and discussed, to reinforce and elaborate on the information shared in the Questionnaire. On completing the Questionnaire and booking the property survey, you will receive a Welcome Pack, familiarising you with the processes involved in both our studio's design work, and the planning application - bringing you onboard for the journey.
02
survey computerised
Once the property survey is carried out, this information is used to model the existing building in our industry-standard software. The orthographic drawings produced during this stage will be included in any Planning Applications submitted to the Local Planning Authority.

03
concepts designed and discussed with client
Once the existing building is modeled, the concept designs are formulated, exploring client ideas and developing an overall strategy to make best use of the proposed building footprint; these design ideas will be explored and presented in both the 2D and three dimensional outputs listed above, providing a clear understanding of what is proposed, before consulting the Local Planning Authorities.
04
planning consultation and application
Moving forward with an agreed design leads on to Pre-application Consultations with the LPA, prior to submitting the necessary applications. This ensures that the proposed design is not rejected, and that important changes can be made, as advised by the Planning Officer. Once the application is submitted, it will take 8-13 weeks to get a final decision (the itemised process is explained on our Extension Proposal page linked below, which will lead on to the survey booking page, where you can view our range of comprehensive Design Packages).
